Celebrate Research Week is an exciting week packed with events from a broad range of Faculties, that showcase UBC's world class researchers and their cutting-edge work.

The 7th annual Celebrate Research Week (CRW) will be March 3 - 10, 2007

Research Touching Lives and Communities

The aim of this week is to draw attention to the outstanding research that is continually in progress at UBC. We aim to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of the benefits - social, economic, and educational, that this research and knowledge brings to the region, the province and the country. Events will take place at all UBC campuses including Point Grey, our teaching hospitals, Robson Square and UBC Okanagan. Most events are open to the public free of charge (except where noted).

UBC is the largest knowledge acquisition enterprise in the province yet few members in the communities we serve know very much about these activities and their role in the social and economic development of our society. All over the campus and at many off-campus sites, a significant amount of research is being conducted. This takes the form of both applied research as well as knowledge seeking research aimed at increasing our understanding of a multitude of areas in the arts, sciences, engineering, humanities and medical sciences.

Celebrate Research is an ongoing program linked to the current strategic plan for UBC Research and the Trek 2010 Vision Statement, which hopes to expose the length and breadth of the knowledge generation activities being carried out at UBC and to recognize the minds behind them. It is the goal of Celebrate Research to promote, showcase and increase the awareness of research within UBC, locally, nationally and internationally and celebrate the excellence of its researchers.
