Research Funding Summary

While many of the immediate impacts of the pandemic on regular and exceptional funding programs are no longer being felt as acutely, we are aware that longer-term impacts are still being experienced, and that funding patterns are still being affected by interrupted research and scholarly activities over previous years. 

In 2022/23, 9,675 research projects were supported by a combined budget of $747.3M. This total research funding is the third highest recorded at UBC, and higher than any years before the pandemic.

2022/23 saw new highs in the number and value of projects with non-profit funding.
